The GBC program was designed to assimilate a salon environment for the purpose of beauty education. The live clinic is well equipped for hands-on instruction. COSMETLOGY 600 HRS

-Today's cosmetologist must possess a wide range of skills and knowledge to meet the needs of today's sophisticated beauty buying public. The GBC program has been carefully designed to fulfill this requirement. GBC offers the specialized training to not only prepares you to obtain your State License, but also to step right into any number of today's hot beauty careers. ESTHETICIAN 600 HRS - Skin Care (Esthetics)
-This curriculum is for students enrolled in an esthetician program includes theory practical training and technical instruction covering all practices of skin care. GBC offers a carefully structured course of 600 clock hours for licensure as an Esthetician. The curriculum guides you through many types of facials, hair removal and make-up. In an age of specialization, the ESTHETICIAN or COSMETICIANS plays a crucial role in the cast of our Salons and Day Spas. As a licensed Esthetician, your skills as a make-up artist and skin care technician will serve you well in a world where "pampering" is no longer a luxury enjoyed by the privileged few.

Express Learning

Many of our graduates have found jobs in Salons and Day-Spas. Others are working as Para- medical techs in the offices of Dermatologists or Plastic Surgeons. Our surveys show that some have found employment in Department stores as Cosmeticians while others free-lance as make-up artists for photographers and theater productions.

MANICURING 400 HRS -Advance Nail Technology-Our staff has devised a curriculum that will assist you in achieving your goals by preparing you both practically and theoretically in a professional environment. With a job market that is wide open, learning the newest advancements in technology is extremely important.
Everything from full sets of sculptured nails, fills, tips and wraps such as fiberglass nylon and silk to basic manicure, pedicure, sanitation and sterilization is carefully and methodically taught. These are the types of services you will be able to offer your clients and they will continue to pay dividends for your entire life.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING 600 HRS
- The curriculum for Cosmetology Instructor training includes theory, practical training and technical instruction covering all practices of cosmetology. Curriculum includes various techniques of evaluation, different supervision methods and day to day training of Cosmetology students. An addition to the normal classroom teaching techniques, our instructors are trained to use the latest PC software tools to teach and manage their students. We offer training courses in time management, power point presentation, spreadsheets and Internet related courses.

MASSAGE THERAPIST 600 HRS
- The Professional Massage Therapy associates degree and diploma programs are designed to prepare the adult learner to meet the requirement for entry level employment as a massage therapist in their private practice or in the offices of physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, health spas, and physical therapists. Emphasis is placed on law and ethics, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and principles of therapeutic massage. Therapeutic modalities as adjuncts to Swedish Massage, connective tissue massage, Shiatsu, chair massage, reflexology, sports massage, and spa therapy techniques.

Financial Aid

What is student financial aid? Student financial aid is assistance which helps pay the cost of education. Funds included in this aid may be provided from several sources, including local workforce investment funds and private agencies. Most financial aid recipients receive a combination "package" comprised of more than one type of assistance program.

Deferred Payment Plan available to assist students during financial hardship. To qualify, students must be receiving financial assistance, WIA or vocational rehabilitation. This plan applies to adult students who are experiencing financial hardships at the time of registration and cannot afford to pay the tuition and fees. Call (714)839-0808 for more information.

The GBC program is currently a candidate for accreditation with NACCAS. Once approved, qualified students will be able to apply for federal funds by submitting a FAFSA application. Admissions & Registration

New enrollments will only be accepted on the first of each month. All application forms and agreements must be completed and fees paid prior to the first day of class. To be admitted to our program the potential student must:

1. Take and pass the assessment test. Call to arrange an appointment (714) 839-0808
2. Attend an Orentation Meeting
3. Be physically able to perform all cosmetology techniques
4. Progess a professional attitude
5. Register for classes
6. Fee must be paid in full prior to starting the class or qualify for Financial Aid
7. Identifications Cards are required for all students and must be visible at all times
8. Attendance Requirements- Students are expected to complete 100% of the class hours. NO Exceptions
9. If classes are full; priority shall be granted to Adults, 18 years of age or older. Concurrent high school students must be authorized and approved by the high school counselor and GBC Director.
